This photo series documents a rhino dehorning operation in South Africa. A controversial but often necessary conservation method used to deter poaching. I had the opportunity to join join a team of conservationists, veterinarians, and volunteers working in the field to document the process from beginning to end.
As a documentary-style photographer, my goal is to capture stories that convey truth, complexity, and care. This story highlights the difficult decisions at the heart of wildlife conservation and the urgent efforts being made to protect endangered species.
